My daughter and I wanted to share a project we are working on together. For a full year we are taking a picture every day and will post them up here as we go. While there may not be a new post every day the photos will always be one each day consecutively for 365 days. I was wanting to share with her my passion for photography and the knowledge I have and hopefully in doing so increase my abilities along the way. I know this will be a challenge sometimes as I am sure there will come days when we just don't want to press the button but I feel the reward at the end will be worth it. If you are following this I know there will not always be great shots as this is a lesson in perseverance and learning but I hope you are rewarded with a few good ones. I also hope you enjoy the ride with us, as I know we will.

Day - 24 : GO!

85mm : f/1.8 : 1/10sec : ISO800

Couldn't wait for the school bus doors to open, since we had no tivo.  Don't think I touched a step on the way out.

Day - 23 : Lucky Charms

85mm : f/1.8 : 1/500sec : ISO800

Day - 22 : In The Shadows

85mm : f/1.8 : 1/4sec : ISO1600

Day - 21 : This Means Work!

85mm : f/1.8 : 1/15sec : ISO800

Haley wanted to play around with selective color in Post Processing.  I like the way this one turned out.

Day - 20 : Cafe' au lait, Please

85mm : f/2.8 : 1/60sec : ISO400

My new mug.  Nothing like your favorite beverage in L glass....

Day - 19 : Arachnophobia

85mm : f/1.8 : 1/80sec : ISO400

Happy Birthday Dad!  He would have loved going to one of these ALMS races.  Not F1 but still amazing engineering!  Playing around a bit with DOF with this shot.  Love the 85mm.

Day - 18 : ......... 4

85mm : f/2 : 2sec : ISO200

Playing around with the tripod in very low light.  Should have shot this at ISO100 since we were locked down.  Liked the sharpness at the focal point on this one and one other but I made an executive decision.  Haley wanted the other shot but the White Balance was way off.  She will understand, some day.....  ;-)

Day - 16 : En Fuego

85mm : f/4.5 : 1/6sec : ISO1000

Macro Mondays - Love the colors of these little guys.  We had to use a tabletop tripod and bump the ISO up to get the light right since we wanted to do this with available light.  Used the 85 prime with an EF25 Extension Tube for the macro.

Day - 15 : got crystal?

50mm : f/1.8 : 1/250sec : ISO800

Teaching Haley about perspective.  I like her use of this here.

Day - 14 : Mr Saturday Night Special

Shot with Blackberry Storm

Good times with good friends.

Day - 13 : Taking Time

50mm : f/1.8 : 1/4000sec : ISO800

Love the smell of Gardenia's.  We didn't realize the ISO was still set so high.  Should have lowered it but still pretty happy with how the shot turned out.

Day - 12 : On the Loose

50mm : f/1.8 : 1/10sec : ISO800

Day - 11 : Hey Mikey

50mm : f/1.8 : 1/60sec : ISO800

Shot with the Nifty Fifty and available light.

Day - 10 : Kentucky Native

50mm : f/1.4 : 1/50sec : ISO800

B&W is probably my favorite type of photography and I was playing around with this shot in Post Processing and really liked how this turned out.

Day - 9 : Breathe

50mm : f/1.8 : 1/90sec : ISO800

A little macro.  Nifty-Fifty with EF25 Extension Tube and available light.  I was thinking of doing something here and it just happened to fit for today's picture.  As this was also Monday's shot we will be continuing the theme and now be doing "Macro Mondays".  This may not be the only time we do macro but we will try to focus this day of the week on this theme to learn more on this wonderful form of photography.

Day - 8 : Time Stand Still

28mm : f/2.5 : 1/8sec : ISO800

Summer's going fast, nights growing colder
Children growing up, old friends growing older
Freeze this moment a little bit longer

Day - 7 : Lollipops

10mm : f/4 : 1/15sec : ISO800

Day 2 of the Balloon Festival.  The colors on these balloons are stunning.  The weather kept them all grounded for both nights of the festival.  Instead of half of the group flying and the other half staying behind for the glow they all remained on the ground for the night glow.  It was amazing with this many hitting the flame in sync.  I got some really nice glow shots but since we used Haley's last night I figured I would put a daylight shot showing some of the colors.  Till next year....

Day - 6 : Lagniappe

40mm : f/8 : 5sec : ISO100

A little something extra.  I decided to include one extra shot from today's shoot.  This was my first attempt at fireworks and I was quite pleased with the results for the first time.  Shooting fireworks was a blast, sorry no pun intended.... ;)

Day - 6 : Up, Up, And Away

50mm : f/5.6 : 1/20sec : ISO400

This weekend is the Balloon Festival and we were able to take some great shots of these beautiful balloons.  The night glow sequence was spectacular and Haley took this shot at night, hand held and no flash!  Great job!  She's got talent.

Day - 5 : Back to School :(

50mm : f/1.8 : 1/90sec : ISO800

Nice to be able to shoot with available light with the Nifty Fifty. ;-)
Can't believe summer is already over, back to school. :(

Day - 4 : Overdue?

85mm : f/2 : 1/10sec : ISO800

I hope these aren't overdue...

Day - 2 : Whoosh!

85mm : f/8 : 1/10sec : ISO800

This was shot with an EF 25 and EF 12 attached to my 85mm f/1.8 for a bit of macro.

Day - 1 : Behind The Shutter

85mm : f/1.8 : 1/400sec : ISO100

We went out to LSU to Mike's cage and got some great shots of him but I thought this was the appropriate one since it was the inspiration for the project title.
